September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month. In recognition, Councilwoman Annie Williams presented a resolution and donation to USA Health’s Dr. Johnson Haynes Jr. Sickle Cell Center during Thursday’s Prichard City Council meeting.
Named in honor of the late Dr. Johnson Haynes Jr., the center provides medical care and support for patients living with sickle cell disease. Dr. Haynes’s son accepted the resolution and donation on the center’s behalf.
Councilwoman Williams thanked the center for its dedication to patients and the care it provides throughout the community. The center is now under the leadership of Dr. A. Hogue.
